- Biography
Sylvia McGrath was born in Surrey England; her father was an engineer and was transferred several times taking his family to Yorkshire, Scotland and then Canada.
Due to these moves Sylvia went to twelve different schools over the years. To compensate for losing friends along the way, she turned out to be an avid reader with a great love for books and art. At one of her schools in Yorkshire, her art teacher entered Sylvia in a national art competition. She was one of the four finalists out of four thousand entries. The school won a cash prize that went towards enhancing their art program. At the same school she and a friend wrote a book together that was published and put in the school library.
Sylvia graduated from college in Scotland majoring in business
At present, Sylvia is a certified tutor for the Laubach Literacy of Canada and her goals include making a difference by enriching the life of others through the written word and to eventually write interesting books and articles for young adults with literacy challenges.
