Planning Year per Legal (fold-out Classic) - 2008 & 2009

This provides all of 2008 on one side and 2009 on the other of a landscaped piece of Legal. Once printed, it can be folded into thirds to fit into a Classic-sized planner.

As I was exploring the site and getting things together, I found the Year a page (A4) for 2006 and 2007 and thought it'd be nice to have an updated 2008/2009.

It's listed as "Other" paper size since it uses a full piece of Legal and folds to fit into Classic.

Paper size:
Other
Thumbnail:
2008 & 2009 Year.png
Usage advice:

Use this to map your year. Track vacation time. Plan timelines for longer projects.

I've included the .odg and .pdf versions. Suggested fold lines are included on the image, but if your printer can't print within 1/4" of the edge of the page, they won't print out. Still, you'll be able to see them in the .pdf viewer and can adjust as per your tastes. (I tried to fold mine along border between date boxes.)

*Update* I've added a new file. It's Excel 97 format, since it was the spreadsheet I had at hand when I needed to create an updated version. It may work in Open Office, but I haven't tested it. To use/update dates: Add the beginning year in cell C1 -- all other cells will update based on that entry. If you change anything else, you'll have to fix the formulae.

Planner Left Page Only- Classic Only - Calendar, Appointments, Tasks - Auto-dating

A semi-automated Excel based left page for two page per day planner systems .. print your favorite journal/note page on the back and you are ready to go. Includes 3+ month reference calendar and appointment schedule. Print up to 1 week at a time, you can pick the days. Key Dates can be flagged.

Small photos can be imbedded for each day of the week to allow user customization and inspiration.

Paper size:
Classic (5.5 x 8.5)
Thumbnail:
ClassicCalendar2a.jpg
Usage advice:

Created with Excel 2003. I like Bright White 24# inkjet paper for strength, hand and resistance to bleeding ( I use fountain pens ). Setup for color, but could be easily tweeked for black&white.

Tested with Circa disks, but should be good for traditional binders.

Dates for the daily and reference calendars are set On the Instructions Tab and populate automatically.

Special dates are input on the Tables Tab using techniques demonstrated by David Seah's templates and receive special formating on the reference caledars.

Small photos (ultimate scaled size 1x1.4 inches)can be inserted on each of the 7 calendar pages. I have included a set of small sailboat pictures as a starting point. Photos can be deleted if not desired.

Process .. Print the calendar pages. Cut them in half. Print Journal/Note page on the backs.

Have Fun, Get stuff Done.

Phone Calls

When I check my voice mail I like to keep a running list of the people I need to call back as sometimes I don't do it right away. I took the "To Do" template from the Core D*I*Y list and made some modifications to be a little more specific to Phone Calls. This is a classic 2-up template and the first I have created.

Paper size:
Classic (5.5 x 8.5)
Thumbnail:
phone-calls.jpg
Usage advice:

The 'who' and 'num' field are to indicate the called and a contact number. The 'note' field is a quick summary of their message.

I like to indicate whether I have returned the call (check box near 'Called Back') as sometimes I leave a return voice mail, but I won't tick off the complete box until we connect.

I put in a priority which can be used as a checkbox for a boolean sort of priority or could be used with a number scheme. The 'Called' field is intended for date and time.

Personal Timeline Templates

When my son was born in October 2005 I began to think about how little I knew about my parents past. What were they like when they were younger, how did they feel when I was born, where did they live, who were their friends, etc... So I started to think about my own life in a timeline. I started piecing together information in different categories - where I went to school, where we lived growing up, events in my life, travel, occupation, etc... After gathering all the information I began to put it into a timeline so I developed these blank templates for making my timeline and I thought I would share them with others interested in timelining so they could benefit from them.

Version 3 of my weekly planner, designed to keep track of everything that is on your mind and plan out your week. In the main column you list all the tasks you want to do for the week then tick the appropriate day you want to do them plus a time/deadline where appropriate. The second column is a mind dump for capturing any other thoughts or tasks that don't have to be done during that week.

One Year of Monthly Zero Based Budgets UPDATE: 1.2 version for OpenOffice/NeoOffice & Excel

Zero based budget spreadsheet for doing a budget for 12 months. Based on the concept described by Dave Ramsey.

Update: 1.1 includes some tweaks and a iWork '08 Numbers version.

Update: 1.2 includes a major bug fix for the OpenOffice/NeoOffice & Excel version. The way totals were calculated, all months would reflect the totals from January. This bug was not present in the Numbers version.

Note:I had to zip the Numbers version to get it to attach. Unzip it and then open with Numbers.

Paper size:
Letter and A4
Thumbnail:
preview_of_monthly_cashflow_plans.jpg
Usage advice:

At the beginning of the month, fill in the income and expenses you expect for the month. Include how much you will save for emergencies, debts you will pay off, and money you will give away. The difference between your income and all the other things should equal $0. Live on this budget and then fill out the "actual income" and "actual expenses" sections at the end of the month to see how you did.

You should be able to print it out in various sizes, but I have found landscape letter size works about the best.

License details included as part of the spreadsheet itself.
