Software used to design DIY templates?

Hi,
I'd like to create some job-specific forms for my work, that I can print out and keep in a binder. I'm wondering what software was used to design the DIY templates? Photoshop? The Gimp? Something else?
Many thanks in advance!
Much warmth,

OOo Draw
I believe that Doug uses Adobe Illustrator and InDesign for the official templates. If you don't have those, and can't justify the cost of purchasing them, you might try the Draw component of OpenOffice.org. It is free to download (though hefty @ 75MB).
DiyP Software
Yup, Pudah is right. I use Illustrator to design the templates (there are *thousands* of layers) and then InDesign to create the PDF books of them. If you do a search for Illustrator on this site, you'll probably find lots more information regarding this.
OOo is absolutely great for developing a few templates at a time, and is free, which is one of the reasons why I created the Widget Kit. That should give you a head start if you wish to design your own. (Check out the Design your own templates section of the site.) A new version of the WK is tentatively scheduled for late next month, and will be based upon the DiyP3 design. Soon after that, we can think about creating a HPDA version.
Hope this helps!
all my best,
