Making good on my promises ...

I have promised to add to the Dynamic Templates.

This thread is to collect all my promises

If I made a promise to you and you do not see it in this thread, let me know.
I have a mind like a well oiled steel SIEVE and I am not ashamed to admit it.

This list is NOT in priority order.

Err, um

Err, um, this was discussed, not sure about promised: control of shades of gray, ability to selects shades of color instead?

Here is hoping at least . . .

Oh, and fixing the wysiwyg previews, in the current version it is messed up.

What is messed up about the preview ?

Details, please.

In the version that I have,

In the version that I have, which I think is the latest, lines in the preview do not all show, and vary in display according to zooming (for notes at least, I forget if calendars have the same problem). In the previous separate version, lines display fine.

Edit: I just checked, the notes sections of some of the calendars have the same issue with the preview. Printing is fine as far as I can tell.

Color Control ?

I am reluctant to add color control as it would complicate things. Would you want one color control for the whole page or one control for each piece of each page ? See ?

A feature I plane to release that is already in place is SVG output in addition to PDF.

If you are not financially fortunate enough to have a copy of Adobe Illustrator, you may want to check out an open source application called Inkscape

SVG files can be edited with illustrator or Inkscape. Color is easily altered.

Well, I noticed that you add

Well, I noticed that you add different features gradually, so I figured whatever you did at first would be fine (one color control for example), then later it could be more sophisticated, with separate controls or whatever fanciness was possible, as time permitted.

I will take a look at Inkscape, thanks.

One year with notes

I have not seen this mentioned before: the two year per page has a very nice vertical column for notes, which the one year per page lacks (it has just a short note section at the bottom). It would be nice if the notes in the one year could look like the two years.

Just a thought.

It's a matter of proportion

The block that the printed year takes up is kinda hard to change without making it look scruffy.
Compare the one-year and two-year page. You will see that the height/width ratio is the same.

Perhaps a landscape arrangement will produce what you want. I will check it out

Bump

OK, after two entries with the same subject I have to ask. What does "bump" mean in this context?

It means...

This topic gets bumped back to the top of the "Recent Topics" list so I do not have to hunt very deep for it.

Bookmarks don't work for ya?

Bookmarks don't work on your browser much Ygor? You could just bookmark it to your system or your delicious acct.

bumps help me

I only look at recent updates, so if something gets edited, I just won't know. I've almost missed new templates because they show up part way down the page. Given that I check at least 20 times a day, missing anything would be an unbearable tragedy in my life.

I know, I need to get out more.

A bookmark works for me, but...

...this shows everyone ELSE what I am doing :)

I don't think this was

I don't think this was promised but it was asked for -- the ability to make the pages a lot more colorful.

Thanks.

Yes, it was asked for...

...but I am not planning to do it directly.
One change in the next release will allow YOU to do it yourself. I have added the feature to save the template as SVG. You could then edit the SVG files with Inkscape and colorize to your artistic heart's desire.

Monthly Calendar Lines

I don't know if a feature request should go here, but here it goes anyway :^)

Unless I'm missing something, I would like lines on the calendar. I print two page per month (classic/junior) and it would be nice if I could add lines to the calendar, college and narrow.

There are lines in the Notes Column

and the spacing of these is adjustable, but the day-blocks are calculated from the page and margin sizes. Putting lines in them would not work for all the assorted sizes.

Look at the default - Classic/Junior page size with 1/4" margins all round and College Ruled line spacing.
The top of the second week is a bit below the 5th note line. Change to narrow and the second week is a bit above the 6th note line.

I would either be restricting the size of the day block or leaving fractional size lines at the bottom of the day blocks.

Just a clarification

Do you add the new templates, as they are prepared, to the version available for download now, or will they be available in the next version of the Dynamic Templates? My guess is that they will be available in the next version. And this is not to put pressure on you at all, but I'm just wondering if you have a sense of when the next version might be available.

I really appreciate the amount of effort your templates save me every time I want to customize. Many many thanks.

Color Control (Indirectly)

The new version of Dynamic Templates (v2.05) adds SVG output.
These SVG's can be edited. You can add/remove/change text and graphic elements. And you can change the color of any object.

Dynamic 2.05

These did just show up today, right? Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love being able to get my planner done before the new year, but rarely manage to do so.

Will be sure to give you feedback once it's done.

Week Numbers !

In the new Dynamics (v2.05) there are two templates showing two pages per day in a minimal Moleskine inspired format. These templates include week numbers. The week number printed is calculated using the first day on the page. If there are any complaints, you know where to post them :) Please keep them polite. Thanks.
