Lev "Circa File Notebook

has anyone seen these before? I must have missed them at some point. looks interesting. I had done a hack where I cut the whole folder off of the "hanging bar" (maybe leaving an inch) and then punched right under the bar and connected my discs that way (so the paper hung from the discs). Did not think of just punching the bottom of the folder itself! Great storage idea!

The link did not work, it is for the Lev Ebay site. Item # is 180331728307

Oh, those...

Been there, done that, found better

Google "pendaflex 99917"

It's a hanging file and file folder all in one
Hanger rods retract for folder portability.
Made of poly material with built-in tabs and self-adhesive labels.
Pack contains three red, four blue and three yellow. (10 pack all together)

You can order these from Office Depod here for $15

Then just smurf them yourself.

I found the Levenger ones when they were on clearance price of $5 a pack. You want some ? I have extras.

Rolla hanging folder hack

I use something similar to your design, nay nay (i.e., rings at the top), with Pendaflex folders. Ygor turned me on to Ryan Rasmussen's experiments with hanging folders and I went and hacked a set:

Linky

I use them to store my permanent files and after six months they're hanging in there (nyuk nyuk). I've found that a single bar can with 3/4 rings can hold a fully-loaded set of letter-sized paper just fine. Larger rings and more paper, and you start to get some bowing, which can be solved by using two bars.

My concern with the rings-at-the-bottom approach is that the paper will start to sag and curl unless the folder is pretty tightly closed. Have you had any problems like that, ygor?

To be honest...

I have not put mine to use.
I am the sort that likes to tinker with everything and not necessarily use it. I need to have a cleanout sale in The Bazaar for stuff like this.
