Keeping your page and notebook shut.

Just invested in a notebook style planner, and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for marking the current page and keeping the notebook shut. Tried an elastic band but didn't work too well.

Girl's hairband

I've used girls' elastic hair bands for my letter-sized notebooks. Some of them have rubber on them so that there is no slippage. For other sized DIY notebooks, I've used elastic from the fabric store. I punch a hole in the back cover, wrap just enough elastic around the notebook, then either knot the two ends or tape flat with hockey stick tape.

How about a bra?

I've been using fabric from pants or other clothing to close my journals. 7 gypsies makes a book bra that you wrap around your book to keep it closed.

I'm sure that you could probably re-purpose old bras in the same way, and make something unique.

I love the 7 gypsies line of art toys. So much nifty little trinkets and fun items to put in books.

(and for a minute there I thought you were gonna chastize me for posting the word BRA on the site.)

Remember when you were just starting school they had a wooden board with a picture of a shoe on it and a shoelace threaded through to practice tying laces?

This could be same for teenage boys :-)
