brown ink ink rolling ball pen and/or liquid ink marker pen
Submitted by kub on Sun, 2008-03-30 08:13.
I found a brown ink liquid ink marker pen, that is just great: Pilot V Razor POint. Except so far can only find it one to a package with 7 other colors. Expensive.
I thought that Pilot also once made a precise V5 rolling ball pen in brown, but cannot find that anywhere.
Do you know of any other rolling ball or liquid ink markers pens that have brown or sepia ink
....that you dont have to buy 7 pens you dont want in order to get the color you do want to code with?
I know sanford makes sharpie markers, but the markers that have odor, whatever that smell is, gives everyone here a headache., so not good to use for more than a couple seconds.
thanks

Here are some
Are gel pens OK?
If so, www[dot]jetpens[dot]com has lots of brown ink and brown gel pens. I found over a dozen on their site
More specificly...
JetPens-dot-com and jStationery(formerly jpens)-dot-com
LOTS to choose from

Pelikan has a roller ball that can be used with fountain pen ink
There's a roller ball pen made by Pelikan that - if you use a converter they sell - can use regular fountain pen ink. There are hundreds of beautiful inks for fountain pens out there, so it would be a matter of willingness to fill it. There are other companies that also make fp ink roller balls, Kaweco and Monteverde are two I have but they are considerably more expensive than the Pelikan.
I remember Niji Stylist pens come in a brown. They are more fiber tip than roller ball, but they may work for you.
Why though?
I never saw the point of that pen. For the price, you can get a vastly superior fountain pen.
Google is my Friend !
Pendemonium has the rollerball-fountain pens !!
Kaweco Sport Ink Roller Pen -- $10
Pelikan Roller -- $11
J. Herbin Stylo-Roller -- $21
Hey Oracle, one possible advantage these have is that they would do carbon forms better than a fountain pen.
I may have to try one of these.

Mr. Google, can you find
I think I like the idea of rollerball-fountain pen ink. Next question, are there any fiber tip pens that take fountain pen ink?
I googled it and didn't find it, but you seem to have a better relationship to google than most. :)
Thanks!

Oooo, A Challange !!
There are the Preppy Fountain Pen Highlighters Swisher Pens Link which have replacable fiber tips.
Let me look for others.

Hey, Angel !!, you want the brown pen from the set ? You are welcome to it for my cost plus shipping to get it to you.

very cool
so, are they chisel tip or fine point?
-kmorris
Neither
The fiber tip looks to be about 2mm in diameter and it is sorta elliptical shape -- like this -- with a bit of a point. I expect the point will smoothe out and it will probably write with a rather fat line.
I have not yet inked one up, but I will take pictures when I do.

wouldn't dream
wouldn't dream of touching that dial!
JetPens comes through with Preppy Markers !
I do not know if it was in response to my request, and I really do not care, but I just found the CSIQ-150's on JetPens --> here for US$ 2.25 each.
From my observations, these are the same pen barrels as the Preppy Fountain Pen and Highlighter, both of which have been successfully converted to eyedropper fill.
Wa-hooo !

Just got one of these
I ordered the Pelikan roller (that ygor links) and it came on Saturday. I've been using it off and on over the past few days and I'm enjoying it. The description says that it's a 0.5mm point, but I'd say it write wider than that. It's comparable to my 0.7mm pencil, or to the G2 tip.
I haven't really found a roller ball that I like (haven't looked much either), but I'm enjoying this one. It's a contrast from my smooth flowing, easy writing fountain pens, but I can see the benefit of having a pen I can fill out forms with. Right now I have a basic short international cartridge in the pen, but I plan on getting a converter and using Polar blue with this so that I'll have an "official" signature pen.
Thought you might want an opinion to balance out the product descriptions.
It's probably the Pilot G-Tec C4
But it seems much easier to buy them in Europe than in North America. I get mine in the UK from Paperchase, but they only do UK mail order.
In the US -- Jet Pens !!

Art supply stores
I've found the pens available individually at art supply stores. They usually have displays of different kinds of pens, in a variety of colors, and I've seen the Pilot Razor Point pens displayed with multiple colors, in a cardboard display thing with maybe a dozen pens of each color available.
