D*I*Y Planner to the Rescue

A little late to report this, but D*I*Y Planner helped me avert a Christmas Crisis.

It was Christmas morning, and after I got my elves (ahem, step-kids) to wrap all of the gifts, we realized that we didn't have a gift for my husband's Great-Uncle Bill. Bill is the sweetest guy in the world, and it would've broken my heart to leave him out.

So ... I found a spare set of Junior sized Circa covers, took the copper rings that were too small for my Secret Santa gift project - then we got really creative.

My husband found a public use logo from Uncle Bill's alma mater (USC) and faded it to the density of a watermark. I then printed that watermark on multiple 8.5 x 5.5 pages that I already had on-hand.

We then used the Dynamic Template to print an 8.5 x 5.5 weekly calendar on those watermarked pages.

Finally we added in some address and to-do list pages, two extra Rollabind dividers in (perfect!) red and yellow, plus a title page that was a scan of a USC football game program (perfectly visible under the Circa transparent cover), and personalized with Bill's name.

So, in a little less than two hours from discovery to wrapped gift, we had a beautiful, customized, hand-made gift for Uncle Bill.

Awesome!

DIY planner is also good for the serendipitous as well as the planned!
tootru, your gifts sound marvelous. Did you happen to get pics of this one?

No Pics

Sorry! We were in such a hurry that we didn't have time to get pics.

I'm still working on Amy to get pics of her planner, now that she has it in hand. (c:

How did Uncle Bill like it?

Any reports in from Uncle Bill? Sounds great. The home-made with care ones are always best!
