2008 Just Print Them Templates (PDF)

There have been many requests (appeals, begs, calls, demands, inquiries, petitions, prayers, et cetera, ad infinitum, ad nauseum) for pre-generated calendar templates.

I will start stacking them up here.

I am going to start with Classic size and post both Sunday and Monday first-day-of-the-week documents, by the week, month, and day.

On the assumption that you have a printer that will handle duplex printing, I will be adding an extra leading page since most calendar layouts have to start on the left-hand page.

I am going to (initially) limit the postings to English. If you want something else, "buzz" me through the Contact tab and we can work something out.

Post a comment here if you have a specific request for anything from the Dynamic Templates that I have not covered.

Thanks ... and request

Thank you for taking this on. If I could put in a request, it would be for the Hipster versions of the annual calendar - I could see a need for the monthly/weekly pre-generated, but I really enjoy having the full year's calendar on one index card.

No week starts Sunday

It appears that for all four of the files the "year on a page" cover sheet has weeks starting on Monday.

Would it be possible for the two "weeks start Sunday" files to also have the "year on a page" also start weeks on Sunday?

Jay

Weeks start on Monday and Sunday now

Fixed.

RE:day by day business

Hi Ygor,Love your creation for day-to-day calendar.
I just wonder if when you are planning to release the rest of the calendar. I just build a plan, I am looking forward to finish the project.

Thanks for your contributions,

Gus

alternative, possibly unique request

Hi ygor
I would really like to see the dynamic two-pages-per-day with a different font. I love the design of these pages, and appreciate being able to size the lines just right. However, I am printing journal pages that I'm not using, because in order to print just the dated pages I have to save as a pdf, and this gives me the annoying ! in the date. You know the problem, I think!
Do you think this might be possible?
Thanks and appreciation
Kate

Font problems

I hear you, but I have not been able to reproduce the problem on any of my machines, so I cannot troubleshoot it. As to changing the font, Doug is the guy to convince. I did a test variant where I added a font selector control, but it would take DJ's "blessing" to get that feature officially released.

using the apps with the font selector ?

Thanks, and Request

Thanks ygor.

If I could request anything, it would be 2-up versions of what you've posted. That way, I could print on 8x11 and then cut. But the whole tricky issue with 2-up is getting the page order right, so I understand if you've got other priorities.

Here's how...

How to utilize Dynamic Templates and Multivalent: Example 1 - January 2008 classic booklet

This is DIY-Planner, not Ygor's Planners :)
Of course I could do it for a modest service charge, but then Doug would be entitled to a percentage.

Hey Doug! How's 50-50 sound? >:D

Ygor, you are "da man"

Your dynamic template idea is great, and I appreciate your (considerable) efforts on behalf of the community.

Coincidentally, I am involved with a project at work where I said "I know how to automate that." This thing has really ballooned on me for about the same reasons your dynamic template has ballooned on you. I know exactly how to run my code, but other people have trouble with it.

Going from "I can run this code for my purposes" to "Anyone can run this easily and robustly" is a *major* task, as I have found out.

A guy asked me if I could add a gui. I told him "No problem. How does March work for you?" He left me alone after that.

Thanks Ygor. The finished

Thanks Ygor.

The finished booklet in your "Example 2" thread is exactly what I'm looking for, since I can cut on the fold. And I appreciate that you are "teaching me to fish" rather than "giving me a fish."

That said, may I make two suggestions? One, put a link to your 2008-2009 booklet in the list in this thread -- you've already produced that booklet so it's no extra work, and it gives a nice monthly 2-up pdf option for anyone looking for a "just print it" option. Two, consider renaming the "Dynamic Template and Multivalent" threads -- I both searched the site and browsed the topic titles, and I never would have realized those threads were designed to help me produce 2-ups (or 4-ups, etc.) Maybe I'm just clueless, but maybe other people are also having the same problem finding this information. Maybe you could just rename to something like "How to make 2ups etc. using Dynamic Templates and Multivalent."

Answers to suggestions

I added "2-up, duplex" to the example titles. I agree that it would aid in searching.
As far as linking them here, I have already said I will not be posting infinite variations here - only basic pieces.

Hey Doug, we may want to seriously consider a pay-for-it service to produce custom end products. I have a few favorite charities - starting with the college fund for my sons :)

Calendar with weekly between months

Hey, I've been looking for a template with the monthly put into the weekly. You know, the calendar for January followed by the weeks in January then the month calendar for February then the weekly for February, etc. Is there something like that out there? I've searched the templates but found nothing.

Thanks.

You could merge Weekly & Monthly

Use Multivalent

Just a thought

Just a thought ... on the 2-up Classic/etc templates ... it would be nice if they were centered on the pages with margins on the outside edge to be folded down the middle for those of us who have no time nor inclination for cutting paper in half

You can "Do It Yourself"

You can use Acrobat to print it 2-Up or use Multivalent to create a 2-Up version to print. Like I did here: How to utilize Dynamic Templates and Multivalent: Example 1 - January 2008 classic booklet
I am not going to post infinite variations on a theme. That would be a waste of space and bandwidth.

Simple thank you

Thanks, Ygor, for all your hard work.

I found exactly what I needed for the new year in your list of new templates. I had been trying to create them myself, but yours are perfect. The monthly pages were the last thing I needed to add to my planner for 2008.

I have no idea how you manage to work, have a life, and still fulfill all the numerous requests and such that flood you here! I am in awe, and appreciate what you do.

Unbelievable!

I just wanted to add my thanks for some wonderful applications. I was getting worried as we neared the end of 2007 and doug had not gotten to the pages for 2008! Anyway, I was able to create my planner for this year in about two hours, and I'm am now much at ease. My whole family thanks you for a wonderful project. *Mandi

Thank you , thank you, thank you

Your generosity is amazing.

Thanks! Now ... One Month On One Page Template Please

Hello,
Thanks for the 2008 templates. I was wondering if we can get monthly calendars, one month per page (vertical format) with blank lines below for "Special Dates". This would look exactly like the "Hipster Reference Calendars for 2008 and 2009" (last document in your offered list) except it would be for each month.
Thanks!

Working on it...

In the mean time...

There's always this:

No lines at the bottom, but since it's pdf, you can always do a double-print--print the pdf, and then make a page with just lines at the bottom... not as pretty, but hey, it should work. ;-)

Kinda what you're looking for

Your templates are quite

Your templates are quite something. I live in the Middle East and the weekend here is Thursday/Friday. Any possibility of providing templates to accommodate a very narrow band of society that would have Saturday as the first day of the week?
Thanks.

Not so narrow a band really

I'm back in a Monday start world now, but I would have really loved this a couple of years ago. And, I have lots of friends who would love such a thing.

My language skills are not sufficient, but maybe you could find somebody to translate it into Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew? I hadn't made any such requests before, since I also thought it was a narrow band of interest. But I've gotten comments just from having mentioned the word Arabic, that I think there is a bigger demand out there than we realize.

How big a challenge would the right to left, back to front (from the western perspective) layout be?

You've done such great work on everything else, I bet you could do this too! (Nothing breeds outrageous expectations like outrageous success)

The dynamic template applications

If you can work with the applications, you can set up your weeks with a Saturday first day. They ar simple to use, and you should be able to easily find them here on DIYPlanner.

Full Year of Daily Pages

More Hipster versions, possible?

Hi, thanks for these templates, they are great! Would it be possible to have more of them in 3x5 format? I am interested in the weekly and monthly ones, also in fillable versions if possible. If not, I wonder if there is some editable format, like MS Word, that one could use to edit the text fields oneself? I am just learning this stuff myself, so I don't know how these templates are produced.

1) Fillable Versions can be found in the Template section of the web site (either the orginal DIY formats or many more in the User Submitted area)
2) Editable format: most of the templates produced on this site use OpenOffice. It is a free program that you can download to your computer. openoffice dot org
3) Yes, you could try the Dynamic Templates as well. See that section of the web site for instructions

Hope this helps a little!!

Integrated school calendar?

Hey,

Would it be possible to get a template with a monthly calendar mixed in with the weekly set from August to August for all us teachers and students?

Thanks,
Brooke

Hey...

Would you please describe what you want with a bit more detail, please ?

Anything is POSSIBLE.

Can you post the 2009

Can you post the 2009 version please?

I am NOT planning to

I created all of these with the Dynamic Templates.

So can you.

Another possibility I was considering, however, would be to make such template collections available through a print-on-demand website like Lulu.com

Something like a two-page per week planner for an entire calendar year, with some extra goodies -- about 110 to 120 pages, on A5 paper, spiral bound, would cost you $10, plus a few more bucks for shipping.

Yes ? No ? Comments ?

Love your program but I have issues

I would like to second a request for the 2009 versions of the above files.

Ygor, you have done an amazing thing by providing these files. Most people seem to have no problem but I've tried a few time in the last year to make it work on the classic size and it doesn't work for me.

I have a printer that has that page size so I select it and set days to Sunday, margins from printer, if I print it needs a blank page at the beginning, so they are all off. If I try to output to pdf, the image of the calendar goes blank and the pdf file is also blank.

I don't know if it matters but - windows xp, gateway tablet pc, adobe acrobat full version installed.

Thanks for your service,
Matt
