Waterman Phileas refill hack

Anyone using the Waterman Phileas pen? (http://tinyurl.com/2wh6kc) The Pilot G2 rollerball refills fit it perfectly, (http://tinyurl.com/353cq8) have a long lasting ink supply and are cheaper than Waterman's refills.

I assume....not fountain pen

Thanks for the tip. That is not for the fountain pen Phileas, I assume!

True, Ballpoint ink

True, Ballpoint ink replacement with Pilot G2 gel. Actually looks like black ink instead of like pencil. :-)

Any modification?

Curious, I swear I have this same Waterman pen in question, and there's no possible way I can fit a G2 refill into this Waterman ball point (I tried). The Waterman ball points take a refill which as far as I can tell is unique to Waterman in shape, size, and diameter (unlike the Waterman roller balls and FPs which take standardized refills/cartridges). The internal sleeve in the barrel of my Waterman BP is too narrow to fit a G2 refill.

Did you modify your refill in any way, or are there widely varying models of Waterman ball points?

I have fit a G2 into a Waterman rollerball with a cap - but not a Phileas and not a ball point (which has no cap - it's a push mechanism). (Waterman refills match the standard roller ball cartridge type, which is fairly close to Pilot's shape, so they're often interchangeable in pens.)

I may have erred.

I may have erred. Maybe my Waterman is a rollerball type as it does have the removeable cap. I've used G2s for so long I forgot what my original refill type actually was. My apologies.

Wow! I never thought to try

Wow! I never thought to try the G2 in my Phileas roller ball! It fits and it writes better than the Waterman cartridge! Have you tried a fiber tip?
