Blame Steff, pt 2

Discovered Paradise Pens this weekend and walked out $80 poorer with:

1) A bright yellow Lamy Safari & piston converter.
2) A bottle of red-black Noodler's ink.
3) A Pelikan Pelikano jr and 2 boxes of cartridges. (LOVE LOVE LOVE this pen)
4) A pad of Rhodia A4 paper.

~sigh of happy bliss~

The project on the horizon is to make myself an A5 sized rollabind notebook, now that I have the punch and some suitably heavy cardstock to serve as covers.

Ooohhh

I found them last month when on a business trip. Very dangerous place indeed.

Pelikano Jr

I'm glad to hear good things about this pen, as it's on my wish list...

Really?

I'm glad to hear good things about this pen, as it's on my wish list...

Well, damn, I'd run down and pick you one up right now, but the local store only has the medium nibs.

Awww. :)

I appreciate the thought. *hug* I'll get around to ordering a fine nib one of these days...

Jr. nibs

I looked up the Pelikano Jr. Turns out I was thinking of the regular Pelikano, which has a fine nib option. The Jr. only comes in a medium nib.

I thought about getting one for my niece, but she's already used to using regular-grip fountain pens. (Besides, she has eight pens now, thanks to the Varsity 7-pack. Don't think she needs another one for a while!)

deal at Paradise Pens

It wasn't long ago I found the Paradise Pen company at a mall near where I live. At the time, they had a deal going on. Buy something and give them your name and address and they send you a $10 gift card. At the time, I had just gone there to get a bottle of fountain pen ink and decided on Waterman's South Seas blue, which cost a little over $8.

The gift card just came in today. I think late August was when I was there. There is supposed to be some kind of monthly newsletter and yearly giving guide, but I haven't seen either of those yet. Hopefully here in the next couple weeks :-)

I must say, Paradise Pens has the biggest variety of pens (fountain and otherwise) I've seen anywhere. And their customer service was great. My wife and I both went in there wearing T-shirts and shorts and the only thing I wanted to buy was 1 bottle of ink. The staff there still took time to answer all my questions and showed all the different brands and colors of fountain pen ink they had.

They didn't have that deal

They didn't have that deal going on in my local branch (Vegas), located at the swankiest mall in town.

And their customer service was great. My wife and I both went in there wearing T-shirts and shorts and the only thing I wanted to buy was 1 bottle of ink. The staff there still took time to answer all my questions

Julie, the woman who helped me was equally awesome. Very willing to show me pens. Polite and ameniable to anybody who came in the store, even casual people in their T-Shirts and flipflops.

And, yeah, a great variety of pens, from the $10.95 Pelikano Jr. to things that cost about as much as a mortgage payment.

I'll be back.

I didn't know there was a pen store in Vegas!

The swankiest Mall I remember going to is the one at Caesar's Palace.

The Caesar's Forum Shops

The Caesar's Forum Shops actually has a Montblanc pen shop.

Paradise Pens has a store in the Fashion Show Mall.

Fashion Show

I remember going there, too now that you mentioned it.

I lived in Vegas for 4 months about 9 years ago. Hubby lived there for 7 years. Went back there for a visit this time last year.

expensive pens

You think the pens in their stores are expensive, you should see some of the stuff on their website! I was curious what the most expensive pen they sold was and was not expecting anything like this. Anyone reading this should really sit down before reading farther... This is truly mind-blowing.

Sitting down? Good.

They have a Jade fountain pen. The Loiminchay Nine Dragons All Green Jade Fountain Pen. Hand carved from solid green jade and it has a "18K two tone white/yellow gold nib."

Current going price: $250,000.00. In stock. Oh yeah "Loiminchay products are available online only and are not available in Paradise Pen Company Retail Stores."
