Hi.
I can tell you some things that helped me in the past..
Good and sufficient sleep, good nutrition, regular exercise, organized work habits, no children..
Having those things improved my ability to retain things in my head. Now that they're mostly gone, my retention is out the window.

Is life when you're not tired, free of exercise, overworked and disorganized? Then, add kids.

I'm not sure
why you would want to. Knowing that you have to keep track of everything mentally, because it isn't stored anywhere else, is stressful.
