menses tracker for women??

Well, I hope I didn't weird the guys out with this subject line. I know these topics make many of you nervous. :-)

I'm going back to paper after several years on a Palm pilot, and the one thing I'm really missing is FemDays, a program I used for tracking my menstrual cycle.

It's always a good idea for women to track their menstrual cycles. It helps you to know your body, and besides, the doctor will surely ask you when your last period started!

My vision of this is a one-page template, landscape orientation, with a grid. You could run 31 blocks across and 12 down to cover the whole year. Then you can mark off days, and maybe even use letters to indicate symptoms (M=Moody, C=Cramps, H=Headache. . . you get the picture).

If anyone is inclined to put something like this together, why, I'd be much obliged.

:-)

best,

jbs

size?

Oh, yes; I personally use a compact planner, but classic might be the best size for more people to be able to use it. (I find that printing classic pages at 75% works great for my compact.)

:)

I use the year per page layout... Sciral Free Calendars

I track all sorts of things on it... like when I change my contacts, medications, THAT time of the month, illness, etc.

Perhaps this would work for you? :)

PS. I keep it folded up and tucked into my planner (Usually the one the stays at home). You may be able to adjust size through working with the PDF. :)

Interesting calendar generators

They use both a 7 by 5 and a 7 by 6 month block to avoid the doubling up with the 30th and 31st of the month.

Oh, great options, thank you! :-)

For now, I've created an excel spreadsheet, converted to pdf, and then printed out at 70%. I may give those sciral calendars a try, too, though.

thanks again!

:o)

no problem. I have other calendar generators saved in my delicious account : ClickHere

Year-per-page tracking

I use a year-per-page to track all sorts of statistical items by colorcoding. I'm a size-shifter when it comes to planners and this method works equally well from pocket size on up to whatever.

For tracking menses, I draw a red ink line through the dates each month. In addition, I keep track of days off work by circling dates as follows:
• circled in yellow: a vacation day
• circled in green: a sick day
• circled in red: a paid holiday
• circled in blue: an emergency day (very rarely used)
• circled in purple: day I colored my hair
(I love gel pens and have lots of ink colors available.)

For this community's circa addicts, your yearly tracking page can be printed on 3x5, smurfed, and moved between any any size circa binders.

I track mine on my regular calendar pages

using a red pen (natch). When my cycle begins, I put a "1" on that day in the calendar, along with a letter for additional info. Then I just keep writing the number in each day, until I start again. I'm at that "interesting" age, and my cycles are kind of random. Since I've been counting, the shortest was 28 days, and the longest was 124. I'm looking forward to when it stretches out to 365, since I'm told that's when I'll be officially done with the messy part of being a woman.

Sorry if I've weirded anyone out here...

Please don't kick me off this site, but...

...I think this might be a situation that is not well-suited to paper planning. You may wish to jot down notes in your planner, or have pages that prompt you for the information you are interested in, but it's going to be very difficult to notice trends or identify anomalies without having this data in a computerized form. My advice is to use whatever forms you like best and then enter your data into an online or desktop application designed for tracking cycles.

I googled for FemDays; they don't appear to have a desktop companion product. Maybe you can find something else that you'll like just as much.
