Student templates

hi i'm new (in many ways if you think about the title (i am one) ) and i thought that some student templates would be a good idea.

Hello, son.

Ladies and gentlemen, my 11-yr old. :) Getting him to elucidate a bit further, some specific requests are:

  • Class Schedule (with room number, teacher, etc.) This would probably be a mod of one of our weekly planner templates.
  • Assignment Lists (book, pages, specific instructions, and the like)

Other ideas?

A 'semester' calendar might

A 'semester' calendar might be good -- note when papers are due, midterms, holidays, etc.

Sort of an 'overview' to help avoid discovering it's Sunday night and three papers are due tomorrow, you know?

*teacher notes (special Rules etc.)

school stuff

A few that might help are templates with subjects at the top, and lines to write results. like

sept 29 math test 29/30
sept 31 at home assignment 30/30
etc

Dave's Angel

other templates

How about a template for hired textbooks. So you would have the date hired, title, class, the barcode(so u no which is yours and date returned)

An assignment and grade recorder, could be split so for each term or semester you have 10 or so lines per subject

templates

I have made a textbook hire one and im making a timetable. I'm also going to make a grade recorder and then ill see what else i think might be useful

note taking

a note taking form--it could be one divided in fourths--keywords, definitions, drawing or picture, and mindmap

I am a teacher and find that students need help learning to take good notes.

Are you a programmer?

I ask because of the nested parentheses.... "(in many ways if you think about the title (i am one))"

Two things I would like to

Two things I would like to see in a student template:

- a semester calender with little writing space under each day. The writing space can be quite small here. Just enought room for BUIS-TEST or MATH ASGN or OFF would be cool.

-for the back of that page a page with several boxes, one for each class. Needs to have a box for each class, and in that box a blank for name, schedual, room # and important numbers and contact info. Not big, a 2x2 or 3x3 each would be great.

- a study planner. Landscape page, with five blanks down, and each day across the top. Kinda like the matrix in the classic size but with fewer rows and columns and more room to write. A little blank at the top for the week would be nice.

Was that two? Oops...If anyone knows anything that might work, or can whip something up, lemme know. I tried to make it but it didn't work :(

"Scoresheet" Template

Student templates would be a good idea. I would definitely use them. Unfortunately, I don't have any, but I do have a "scoresheet" I print out to keep track of my grades in each class. It's letter-sized, now, and not in the DIY style, but I could easily redo it in the widget kit if anyone wants a copy.

I'm not sure about a DIY

I'm not sure about a DIY template, but I love the At-A-Glance weekly planners. There's plenty of excess pages that I can tape my schedules into, and it has almost everything I need, and what it doesn't have, I can make and tape in.

semester calendars

The idea of student specific templates for my DIY is great! I'm not that good with print design, but I have a few suggestions.

For the semester templates that someone mentioned, if they are ever made, could they be made in both style of semesters?

Let me explain myself. Americans and all the people that live in the northern hemisphere start their academic years in the middle of a calendar year, but me (and all the people in the southern hemisphere) start our academic years in march and end them in november or december, so we go by the calendar year.

I hope you understood all that. ;)

don't forget the quarter system

My school runs on quarters. There are 10 weeks each quarters pluss Finals week. There are 3 quarters per year pluss summer. Fall: Sept-Dec, Winter: Jan-March, Spring: March-June.

I think the easiest way to deal with this problem is to set up the school calendar in a generic form with space for week number and a day to enter. Referencing Lindsey's post, the front could have a few (2-3) weeks w/ spaces for week #, day (similar to the Yahoo! Calendar). Class boxes on the back would be handy, but then you run into quarters vs semesters. Students at quarter school typically take more classes per quarter to get the same number of units (quarter ~ 4 3 unit classes / semester ~ 3 4 unit classes). So how many boxes?

I could adapt some forms I have...

I've always made my own timetables and stuff for school, and maybe I can make a more "presentable" version of the ones I use.

I live in Chile, and here there are two widespread systems: quarters and semesters. I'm currently attending university, which is based on a semester basis, but my school was quarterly (sp?).

Academic quarters are commonly March-May or beginnings of June, June-middle of September, and September-beginnings of December. Semesters are March-June and July-November or beginnings of December. Sometimes, though, the school year starts as early as the last days of February.

I've also got some hand-made forms for grades that I may be able to digitalize.

If anyone's interested, let me know.

Always interesten in something new/different

What you all are describing sounds to me like specific time-periods for a calendar other than the Calendar Year. Does that sound accurate ? Can these periods be expressed in terms of whole months or whole weeks or what ?

As I recall my college days, many many years ago :), I am of the opinion that an academic calendar is best displayed as a week in a single view (two facing pages)

Look at pages 28/29, 30/31, 32/33, and 34/35 in the Classic Calender Template as specific examples.

Does any of these sample pages fit what you have or what you want ?
