2007 Monthly PDA Portrait
Submitted by nay nay on Wed, 2007-03-21 23:44.
I use these monthly pages in my Circa PDA. I circle the date where I have something planned, then on the bottom of the page I write the date in the box and what my plans are. This was the only way I had enough room to write the full appointment.

3 Days?
Ha! I like your 3 day weekends! ;-)
-Jon
3 days...
yes, I definitely like 3 day weekends! :) I wish I really had every Friday off!
Extend it slightly...
Very nice templates.
I will try using them with the "to do" page printed on the other side so that it shows opposite when the hPDA is open.

things to do this month
Ah, yes, I forgot to mention in my description that I usually print the "things to do this month" page on the backside of each month...
4 Day Work Week ?
Do you work a 4 day work week, or is there some other reason for the color goupings ?
Just curious.

work week
no, I work mon-fri. I just colored it that way so I could separate the full weekend - starting fri evening through sun... that is just how i view the week, i guess.
Makes sense...
...to me.
More power to ya.

It makes Fridays more bearable. ;-)

Amen
to that Jon! :)
friday
No matter how long work lasts on fridays... it just is a different kind of day... knowing that after work... I AM FREE for the weekend <3 :D

friday escapes
i love leaving work on fridays giggling maniacally. it's like escaping from the asylum. :)
the looks you get when you giggle and skip outta the office, is priceless.
/inno
:D
I think you and i are two of a kind... I do the occasional "wooot its friday" disco rendition while closing up the shop.
Growing up I did the yearly ritual for summer break... I would run around the house and the yard singing "schools out for the summer" <3
my artwork
wooot
I do the running around the yard thing on April 15th each year, when tax season is done! No, I am not an accountant, but I work at an investment firm, so we do alot of tax prep for clients... Last year, my neighbor found me standing in the middle of my backyard at 5:30 with a cocktail in one hand and a smoke in the other. He came over and asked me if I was alright. I said, tax season is over and he just laughed at me! He likes to tell me that story every once in a while.
Well, TGIF - one day early!
Smiles,

you realize, sara
you realize, sara... we're going to have to get you to do the "woooooot its friday" song for the podcast, don't you? ;)
i mean, come on! what more can people want...besides two girls giggling about friday and singing weirdness.
yay for it being friday-eve.

three of a kind
Inno, Nay Nay, and Sara...
I think the three of us could captivate an audience ;P
my artwork
audience
well, i think it would be entertaining - if only to the three of us! :P
hah
totally.
think of all the artsy tangents and unrelated things about productivity pr0n we could get ourselves into.
/innowen
long show
I think it would be a pretty long show - I could talk about paper pr0n for hours!
it could
yes, i know that feeling. writing, paper and creativity is my life. :)
then again, my friend's lime and violet have their own podcast on knitting... and they go for an hour talking about knitting projects, yarn and wool.
of course, i sometimes wonder if anyone would want to listen to me ramble on about this stuph...
/innowen
...who's in a bit of a manic mode today...
Wondering....
I would have to wonder about the kind of people who would listen to others talking about paper, productivity, and passion. Just as I wonder about the type of people who are addicted to a website dedicated to such a topic…
wonder no more
my guess is that they're all freaks. :)
freaks who sniff book paper and spend way too much time in a office supply store instead of playing in a park.
yeah...
those freeeky people.

I'd rather collect pens and lovely papers than shoes... :o)
To each her/his own... and for those who don't appreciate office stuffs... i say "Off with their heads" .. ::cough:: I mean... tolerance is important ;P

Office Supply vs Park
Hi.
Now why on earth would you want to go to a park when you could drool over a web site with journals like this?
Park Schmark.
shris
:)
whoa...
shris...
*blinks* wow... that's some notebook. :)
that'd almost scare me into WANTING to go outside.
the black and white inlays, on the other hand, keep me at the computer.

Notebooks
Hi innowen.
I couldn't figure out a way to make one of the patterns I like show up as the first.
Personally, I like the French Ornate Bleu--got the weekly planner of that style right now for journaling. The Mirror Vine Inlay pattern attracts me, as do the Felines. The Designer Wraps are cool too, as is the one with Mozart's manuscript. The "old leather" styles would appeal to a more masculine sensibility, I expect.
Can't come up with a need for 6 or 7 of them, though. One or two, maybe, but not six. :)
shris
nice... we have a fourth
I'm recruiting Shris... we are now the fantastic four :P
my artwork
awesome
so... do we get bowling t-shirts with some fancy lettering and team name?
or just the monnagram pen and Moleskine/CircaPDA set? :)
go us!
/innowen
hmmm
Gotta get some fancy bowling shirts... and ... what the heck... special Circa/Moleskine/Uber Pen sets all custom of course :o) oh...and some nummy food to chow while we discuss the importance of paper pr0n~!
my artwork
sweet
oh... totally.
if we're doing dinner and paper pr0n... the only food choice for me is sushi. :)
but, i think that we'd be better off eating decadent chocolates if we're going to do this right.
/innowen
Mmmm... Chocolate.
OK, Where would *you* get the best chocolates?
I like a lot of what Vosges does, but even Godiva is more than I've got right now. All I've got is Nestle Toll House Semisweet Chips. :) :/ I don't dare open the bag.
For food, I would love some Indian or Thai.
But what I *really* want right now is an oily massage. My back has been sore for a week and a half and I don't know why. Too much computing, I think.

diyplanner shirts
You all should design shirts/logo items on café express. They could have sayings on them to ask the Staples employs to leave us alone when we are lurking/browsing/hack planning in the store. Or a saying to let others know we enjoy our planning obsession and are planning to plan something useful as soon as we reengineer our planners one more time (does anyone else have a project in your planner labeled planner ideas? Who plans their planner?).
lol
i was just thinking how odd i am that i plan out my planners and organizing tools in my current planner/organizer. :oP
And i think i might start working on some diyplanner or hpda type logo/etc... anyone know if "hPDA" is copyrighted or anything? I'd hate to get in trouble for using a 'spoken for' term in some design.
my artwork
Haahaahaahahahahaha! Snort!
OMG..
"...we...are planning to plan something useful as soon as we reengineer our planners one more time..."
I had to show that one to DH. He nodded, then walked off, shaking his head.. He does not share our obsession. :)
Ah, that's a good one. We definitely should include that as a statement on every planner page, down near the reference to DIYPlanner itself.. :)
Someone in the family would buy me that shirt, but I'm not sure I'd buy it for myself. :) Certainly I'd never show it to the boss! :)

"They could have sayings on them to ask the Staples employs to leave us alone when we are lurking/browsing/hack planning in the store. "
I definitely need one of these! Although the employees at Office Depot know that I know their store better than they do. It's scary as they all know me by name and just kind of "stay out of my way!" I love it! :)

P.S. Did someone say Chocolate? Can't stay away from Chocolate - I love DOVE!

a million monkeys typing t-shirt?
I really like the "Million Monkeys Typing" coffee mug, but I don't drink coffee (shocking, I know). Any chance of getting the same design on a T-shirt?

Now you realize, ladies, that you'll need to post a video of the song & dance to youtube for us to enjoy!

nay nay's hPDA monthly calendars
I love nay nay's elegant little monthly portrait calendars. I'm about to have a panic attack because they end at January 2008! Is there any chance of more being created? I've tried very hard to create them myself, but I'm getting nowhere.
Update Yourself
You can download the odg version that nay nay so nicely provided. Then just go through the document and update each month. I did it and it took me about 10 minutes.
now i'm feeling really stupid
Rae-
thanks for your suggestion, but when i download odg and try to open the files, i get a lot of what looks like code. i'm clueless. is there a simple explanation of how to do it?
susan
Open Office
You need Open Office to update the file. If you'd like it now, you can contact me and I'll email you a copy. I'll also see if I can figure out how to submit a template to help others who like nay nay's format.
Edited to add:
Figured out how to submit a template: http://www.diyplanner.com/node/5264
ODG files are for OpenOffice.org
What are you trying to open the ODG file with? They work with OpenOffice.org (like Microsoft Office but better and free).
For details and free copies go to the OOo web site. The beauty of OOo is that you don't give Bill Gates any money for using it. Also runs on Macs, Linux, various other platforms and, oh yes if you must, Microsoft Windows too. Handles Word files as well plus doesn't have the idiocy of the latest service for MS Office off switching off support for older formats.
OOo--woot!
that did the trick! thanks so much. i now have complete set of 2008!
Any 2008?
Love this...any 2008 forms?
