Monthly and Yearly Classic/A5 Calendars for 2007 Released

2007-2008 CalendarBetter late than never, they say, but that rarely applies to calendar production.

Regardless, I'm pleased to announce that the 2007 monthly and yearly calendars for Classic and A5 size paper have finally appeared on the D*I*Y Planner Classic/A5 release page. Sorry for this, folks, but the old Mac G4 that I use for design refuses to do much any more.

Time to render and export 90-odd calendar PDF pages from InDesign on my barely breathing circa-2000 Mac G4: 7 minutes. Time to render and export same on my still functional but even older Mac Powerbook G3: 29 minutes. And then I print, find an error, fix the error (usually 15-20 minutes, including saving the file), and export and print again. That generally makes each fix cycle nearly 1.5 hours. Whew -- I really need a new Mac if I want to keep making D*I*Y Planner releases.

Given the technology issues, I can't say that this version has been as well-tested as I would have liked. Please let me know any errors (leave comments on this entry, or contact me via my form), and I'll fix them as soon as possible.

Thanks, and congrats on Pen World article :D

Perfect timing. I was just starting to feel the lack. Thanks for all the hard work.

Saw the article about you and this site in the Jan 07 issue of Pen World and wanted to say congratulations! It was nicely done and said good things about your templates (and rightly so!).

Hope you can fit a new Mac into your life soon. I've been waffling on a mini for months.

I feel your pain

I am also still using a circa 2000 Powerbook G3 (aka Pismo), but at least it has a G4 brain translplant (not faster, but I can run apps I couldn't before) ;-) I'm dying for a new computer!!!

Pismo Power !!

Don't underestimate the Power of the Pismo. Mine is operating as a DVR. It does a great job.

2007 calendar and production time

I appreciate the effort 2007 calendar, however I feel it can be a little waste of time, most people can bye a calendar re-fill in the size one use for an exspense less than one hour work salery. I appreciate the initiative but personally I only use many of templates that is undated, in this way i constuct my own DIY planner. The calendar section I bye, getting it with colors and with a paper quality better than from my printer.

A big thank you!

Although I discovered this website last year, this is the first year that I have created a complete DIY planner. There are a few things I've adjusted and customised, and printed out for myself, but 90% of my planner comes from your templates, including the fantastic selection of calendars. I really, truly appreciate the time you have spent on this; the DIY Planner is a life-saver for me.

New Year

Since I teach, I could really use next years months, at least through June of '08. If this is possible, please let me know. I love your work. Keep it up.
