Moleskine Adaptation for DIY Planner

This is a slight adaptation on the spectacular DIY Planner templates designed to be used with a Moleskine journal. They print 4 to a page.

Usage advice:

I use these by printing and then cutting them. Then I tape the important ones as pages in my Moleskine and just place extras in the pocket.

Man this was a no brainer

After seeing this, I smacked myself in the head a few times. Why did't I see this before? Great hack.

Heh. I've been doing this for awhile. You can print out a bunch of the commonly used ones (Next Action and Project for me), and have Kinkos chop them in a stack.

I use a holder for mine: http://www.cheshirehall.org/moleskine/

Kinko's use..

Funny, I just went to Kinko's this morning to do just that. I was not sure how it would turn out (still don't, print job done at 2), but I am glad someone else has already done this... good to see.

I've been printing them on 3x5 post-it notes

I've been doing this for a while, but the 3x5 post-its are great for staying put when needed, but coming out cleanly when it's time. It takes a bit more time to set it up, but once it is done it's a lot cleaner. Here's a down-and-dirty post on it... http://swedler.uhduh.com/main/entry/?entry_id=192

great idea. I've been using

great idea. I've been using magnets to put some of my hipster cards on the fridge, but that could make it easier to see.

Bad URL

I'd like to see your post but the URL leads to a page that says you need to upload the file to the server.

Works like a marvel

Best since sliced bread - is there a chance to get an "open file" that I can change it for German users? InDesign (2.0), Illustrator or OpenOffice Draw would be fine!

Can't find the link, and must run.. But

How about the roll-on adhesive, like the Post-It notes... Temp stick DIY pages to Moleskin, and then archive them to more permanent storage later, or leave in if part of flow of ideas...

Source and Different Language Versions

I'm sorry, my friend, but the only source version I release, at least at the moment, is the Widget Kit. It doesn't have any calendars in it yet, but that will evolve over time. Specifically, some calendar widgets should be appearing at around 0.5, so it should be possible then to make one's own. In the meantime, I'd encourage you to play with the WK, learn its ups and downs, and send along any feedback to me. I'd like to make this a valuable package, but its success will depend very much on the community's input.

all my best,

dj

Whilst I can see it as an interesting hack, most of the value in using a Moleskine is the experience of writing in it. I'll concede that I use an A5 Filofax and print pages for this kind of use, I use my moleskine as a pocket notebook and journal, but you'd get the same effect with pretty much any notebook.

Moleskines are too expensive to do this to IMO

Not there any longer?

The web link goes to your blog page, not to the templates. No amount of searching on the site seems to find anything relevant. Are these still around?

not there any longer -2-

I was interested in the pdf as well, but havent been able to find it - is it still available anywhere?

Moleskine template PDF

Great!

Can't wait to see them. Thanks for all the support.

Moleskine template PDF uploaded?

Was this uploaded? I searched the site. Maybe I missed it?

Torg's Moleskine adaption

Sorry, mea culpa. Apparently, either I forgot to attach the file, or Drupal hiccupped. Whatever the case, the file is now attached up above.

all my best,
dj

File?

Is there another location for this file? I'm curious...

Can't open templates

I downloaded the template files, but as they're in a format which is unfamiliar to me and my computer (odg), I couldn't open them. I use a Mac...would love to have pdf version available. Is that a possibility? Or give me some coaching in the downloading and use of OpenOffice...
Thanks!

Waiting for the Sun...

Hi Heather

OpenOffice.org is a freeware office software suite similar to M$ Office and .odg is the file extension for the Draw program. It is available in a number of versions including one for the Mac.

If you download Ooo you can save the Templates directly to .pdf.

Hmmm, I would really like to oblige... Have you tried here? http://support.openoffice.org/index.html
