re: Levenger Desk Punch

I've owned the Levenger Circa desk punch for a couple of years now and love it. Never had any problems with it. A few people complained that the punched "mushrooms" were a tad smaller than the pages that come with the stock notebooks but I've never had an issue with this. I've punched index cards, plastic covers, heavy and light paper stock, and business cards and it all comes out very clean.

I use Rolla stuff too to make my own notebooks but ordered the punch from Levenger because I know they have high quality standards and I wanted something that would last.

Order it..If you want to get into Circa, you won't be sorry.

Why not buy the Rollabind punch instead?

I just picked it up at Staples for $49, and it works great. I doubt I'll use the portable one again, except maybe for business cards.

Levenger just listed some for $39 on ebay

They don't have a warranty/return that way but are twenty bucks cheaper. I wonder if the new bigger hole version will ever come out seems strange that they have been telling people it will be released soon since October 2008.

Latest Phone Conversation RE: Redesigned Levenger Punch

As some of you know, I am interested in this issue.

I called Levenger again this past Thursday 12/3/2009, and the Customer Service Representative informed me that, Yes! the Circa punch is being redesigned, but the first batch apparently wasn't up to standards. She suggested checking back in about a month, and she told me that new/redesigned products are typically rolled out at the end of each month.

So I guess if they miss the mark in December, we won't see the redesigned Circa punch until late January.

The size difference doesn't

The size difference doesn't bother me, but Levenger has been saying that a new punch was 'coming soon' for some time. I can remember October 2008 they said that it was almost done.

punch size....

Levenger seems to send different people different information about the old and new punch. Below is an email recently sent to me. I have decided that if I am going to only use DIY creations and not their pre-punched sheets, then it doesn't matter which punch you use. But, you should ask Ygor as he has much knowledge.

Levenger email:
Thank you for contacting us. I understand your concern and would be happy to assist you.

Unfortunately, the Desk Punches we currently have in stock do not have the larger punches. These Desk Punches will punch slightly smaller than the pre-punched paper.

We are currently working with the vendor to make a new punch that will make holes the same size as the pre-punched paper. Unfortunately, there is not a set date on the arrival of these punches. I apologize for this delay. Once we release the new punch, we will notify customers both on our website and through our Preferred Customer E-List.
Levenger desk punch - safe to order now?

I've been watching all the posts about the issue with the Levenger punch, and I'm unclear if this has been fixed by them at this point.
Is it safe to order the current desk punch they are selling for $58 (Item:ADS3730), is this the updated one?
I called them to inquire about this, and they insisted that there was never a problem at all.
Or should I just order the punch from rollabindsystems.com?

I've been itchin' to try out the Circa stuff.
