Waterproof Test

I just took some standard 80gsm copy paper and made some marks with different colours from my set of Staedtler triplus fineliners. Let it dry for about 30 seconds then under running water for for 5 seconds or so.

The marks remained firm with some bleeding, more fuzziness and less fine than actual bleeding if that makes sense. If I then rubbed the marks with my finger there was a little more fuzziness but not a lot. If it were writing it would remain legible.

So not waterproof, more water hardy if that makes sense.

Sakurare the way to go or staedler. Whichever you like better. Sakura are my fave and staedler are good but they cause bleeding on moleskinetype paper.

i guess im more concerned about how bad the colors run. it isnt a HUGE deal but some projects might take a closer look at how i execute them :)

Either or

I think either the stabilo or the staedtler are good choices. Good range of colours though I sometimes feel some of the stabilo 88 colours seem a bit pale for my liking. My favourite felt tip range is certainly the stabilo pen68.

'cause they both say "water-based ink"
Is waterproof-ness important to you ?
staedtler fineliners

I can recommend the staedtler fineliners. I've had a set of 4 for over a year (I don't use them every day).

They've kept their fine point, they write well and they haven't had any malfunctions. However, they do bleed on some papers

Fineliners - Which is Best?

Anyone have any input on which fineliner they prefer?

I am leaning towards staedtler fineliners versus the stabilo point 88.

I will be using these for artsty fartsy projects, journaling and writing in my planner, etc. :)
