I am not certain if it is a great product, but I would say it is worth considering.

It is the anonymous praising/endorsing that irritates me.

I'm so tempted to log out and start posting negative messages about this product in our anonymous advertiser's name. Just to balance the conversation.

I won't do it.... but it is very tempting. :) Excuse me while I sit on my hands to stop myself. :)

Weekends are just normal days

The biggest problem I have with this planner, like many commercially made, is that "they" assume my Saturdays and Sundays are not as important as my weekdays.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have weekend responsibilities familial, professional, and theological. As a sign language interpreter who worships in a church with a large Deaf community the last two regurlarly overlap. Plus I have w/e gigs, for example interpreting at a wedding or conference --- both of which I have this month. Saturdays and Sundays are normal working days as far as I'm concerned. And much of my professional development training also takes place at weekends.

Thankfully my current planner choice (A5 filoFax time management) has reseasonable space for each of Saturday and Sunday on their shared pages but it requires me to label up the sections as they are untimed. Also need to write smaller as there is only 40% of the printed area available for each full day so I go for hour scheduling rather than 30minutes available on "workday" pages.

Weekends

The biggest problem I have with this planner, like many commercially made, is that "they" assume my Saturdays and Sundays are not as important as my weekdays. To be honest, planning my time with my family and friends, not to mention all the tasks involved with my life outside work, is more difficult than planning my workday. This Sunday I have four timed events, church, a bookfest downtown, a friend's birthday lunch, and my writing group. Several of them overlap and I may have to skip the bookfest depending on how long the dog can go without being let outside, how tired my family gets, and how much laundry I get done on Saturday (in between the kid's soccer game and grocery shopping). I just don't have those kind of scheduling problems at work. I need big weekend days, which is why I DIY.

You could probably do a better job of making your posting not seem like you work for the company, such as personalizing your username, registering with diyplanner, and doing your research on what are the typical habits one observes in usernames. Also, the tone of the entry feels similar to the previous postings by an unverified user who can be assumed to work for the company. It would be great if you could tell us any specific event that made you decide this was the end-all-be-all planner.

Definitely get this Planner !!

I have been using planners since I was in the 4th grade. Now a college senior, I was blown away by how helpful action day planners are in planning you life. In a nut shell, it takes you step by step on how to get the most out of your day and most importantly, it caters to a need to look at the over all picture and one's overall future goals, while educating you on how to better manage all facets of ones personal life. I would definitely recommend this planner.

Also, the CEO of this company is just wonderful. Not only did he respond to my inquiries promptly, but he also sent me a 2008 version at a much reduce PRICE because the year is almost out. I liked this planner so much that I already have thde 2009 version waiting for me in me Residence Hall.

For the quality of this product, it is a steal to get it at the price that it is being sold. Trust me! I have gone through 12 planners within the past decade. This planner helps categorize things in a very easy and organized method that anyone can follow.

Lastly, for someone looking to step out into the real world in a matter of months, this is exactly the planner that I need.

Try it!

had problems. Cost me $13 at an alternate Staples (not the one near my home)

I then changed my mind about keeping it and took it to my local store for refund -- Staples is Staples, right ? Wrong.

Despite having a staples receipt, my local store was unable to easily process the refund as the item did not show in their inventory/catalog. The manager had to be called in to force the system to accept the transaction.

Something ain't right about that.
Action Day®Planner -the philosophy

The Power of Attitude, Goals, and Actions

Most of us go to our graves with our music still inside us, unplayed.
Oliver Wendell Holmes

A man meets three workers at a building site.
He asks the first one: “What are you doing?” – “I’m laying bricks.”
He asks the next one: “What are you doing?” - “I’m building a wall.”
The man walks up to the third worker and asks him the same question.
He looks up with a smile on his face and says: “I’m building a church.”

This anecdote emphasizes the fact that to be man or woman of action
you need to keep three things in mind:

•	First, to have the right attitude toward your work, you must see “the church.”
•	Second, you need to decide which walls you are going to build, i.e., establish your goals.
•	Third, you have to lay the bricks that are needed to build the wall. Without action nothing happens.

Action Day is a tool that helps us better ourselves so our actions speak for themselves.

Action Day® is comprised of two main parts. The first deals with the power of attitude, goals and actions.

•	Attitude – The power of attitude and how you can form the right attitude about yourself, your work, and communication.
•	Goal – The power of goal setting and how you can set your goals.
•	Actions – The power of action, how you can form an execution process in order to get things done.

The second part of the book is the Action Day Planner, and now it’s easier to get things done because you have special places and proven process for all your actions.

Action Day is your tool to improve yourself—to develop power mind to get things done.

I wish you good luck in your work,

For me, they were with the various notebooks - Mead, Red&Black, etc. No special display, just stacked next to everything else in a short stretch of shelf-space on the bottom shelf.

I missed 'em the first time and had to go back and look carefully.

Also, my Staples was running a sale: basic paperboard folders for school, regularly 15 cents, sale price was *free*. Limit 10, several colors to choose from.

Has anyone hear of "Action Day" an "innovative", weekly planner available only at Staples?

I was looking for an academic planner for a middle schooler with ADHD and I found this [Ed: linkified by ygor]

Has anyone hear of "Action Day" an "innovative", weekly planner available only at Staples?

The only version I saw at staples was black and came in a stiff paper back. They only had about three of them. I can't remember if it has any miscellaneous sections for addresses and the like. It must have been available through Amazon at some point, that's where I got the descriptive info linked above and summarized below.

I don't remember seeing any monthly sections. The weekly format and three supporting sections are spread out over 2 pages as follows:

1) Weekly Planner in the upper right section of two pages
2) Weekly Tasks to execute, in a narrow column to the far left
3) Delegated Projects, in the middle of the bottom
4) Goals/Projects, Intended Results, Next Step: far right on the bottom

I was struck by an introductory section which contained a stripped down GTD type philosophy. It looks like they also publish a book that alludes to this in the subtitle "Things To Get Done."

It might be an inexpensive off the shelf way for someone to get started with GTD.

I would have picked one up for the student in question but the stiff cover and the lack of any color options was a deal breaker. It's bad enough that you can't insert any pages but if you can't open it up and leave it open that doesn't seem very user friendly.
