Thanks for the tips

I just downloaded "The Now Habit" and plan on listening to it on my long trip to North Carolina. The drive is about 7-8 hours so I think I may be able to get the whole book done...maybe. Thanks for all the suggestions and tips!

I am so good at writing everything down that I want and need to do but then it just seems to get pushed aside and I forget or get involved in something else. I cant seem to get it right, even when I try my hardest. Believe it or not I have never been able to read a book all the way through. I am 30 and never finished a book....sad. But its a problem I have been trying to work on, hopefully one day I will get it right.

No planner for procrastination

Procrastination is a attitude versus the mechanics of a planning system. I'm a seriour procrastinator, to a point where it has harmed my career. You can write it down and plan the time, but still can not get it down. You have good intentions, but .....

I've started reading "The Now Habit"; if only I can finish it without procrastination. You just say, "I'll work on it for 30 mins". Then after the 30, treat yourself. Now your moving the needle.

Dynamics

Hi.

ygor's dynamic templates has a notes page that's lined all the way across. Personally, I made my own--I prefer a very very faint grid.

I'm using up my Lev paper now, but when that's gone, it's grid all the way, baby.

You can make your own lined paper templates using nearly any software you have. Even notepad can make lined paper, you just have to insert a zillion _ marks. :)

good Ideas...

I like to use the lined paper but Levengers is way too expensive. Is there a template that is close to their junior size full page ruled? I have tried to use the annotated and it just seems to waste paper since for some reason I dont ever write in the annotation box.

Agreed

Look closely at how you work. Then check out some of the various books and systems. You're going to find that what will work best for you will be some sort of hybrid.

I use a monthly calendar and lots of blank and gridded paper. Add in a PocketMod and the occasional 4x6 index card and my system works for me, even though it is still evolving. I recently changed job functions at work, so it is very much a work-in-progress and will probably always be so as my needs change.

Method

Hi.

You would be better off developing a method using plain (or lined or grid) paper than looking for the perfect form.

Personally, I like Julie Morgenstern's books about organizing and time management. She's got a method that can be flexible enough for just about any profession or life, I think.

The format of your forms should adapt itself to your method, not the other way 'round.

Any suggestions??

I have been using Circa for a while now and I love it! I am so happy to have a planner which I can rearrange and move around so easily, not to mention that it just looks cool. But here is my problem. I have been obsessed with planners for as long as I can remember, I would buy a new one just about every month or so just because it had something better than what I had. Now I am fine with the circa although I am noticing that I am still procrastinating and not doing a very good job of scheduling and using my time wisely. I would like to use a system which will help me to organize although I am not sure where to start. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. There are so many great templates and forms although I feel so overwhelmed and just want to print them all out and use them all. I need an easy and motivating system which works well with the circa system. Any links or helpful info on a system would be great. Thanks!
