Paper Gator

I just googled across this: Paper Gator

Looking around, they appear to retail for about us$50 with one blade or about $75 with all the blades. I saw spare blades for $8 to $11

I might get me one of these.

the Lassco corner rounders. The come with interchangable blades with different radii. I would recommend a 1/4 inch radius for cards. Cost is about $150 at Oregon Laminations. You can do considerable more than 6 sheets of heavy card stock at a time... probably closer to 20 or 25 sheets but I have never counted.

I bought one on eBay that might be what you want -- and the seller says they have 3 or 4 more.
Corner Rounders

Hi.

My Carl model will do a piece of plastic .20 inches thick, but five or six index cards is thicker than that. That sounds like matte board rather than cover stock, frankly.

Personally, I would recommend a belt sander. Clamp all your sheets together and they'll act like a block of wood. Then you can round them over in a jiffy with a belt sander or drum sander. Even a little hand-held jitterbug will work.

Of course, not everyone has power sanders. :)

You can also 'nibble' the edge away with your regular paper cutter if it will do the thickness of paper you have to work with. This will not end up smooth, but if you're not doing many sheets you might be able to fiddle with it enough that you won't notice the difference.

If the stuff you're working IS matte board, you might check around at art supply places that sell framing tools and matte-board-cutters and see if they have something. Mostly, though, framing is about crisp corners rather than rounded corners, so that might not give you any joy.

a corner cutter for thick paper?

hi, does anyone know of a cutter that cuts rounded corners on thick coverstock, like the equiv of about 6-8 index cards thick?

I have a couple little plastic corner punch/cutters, but they just laugh when I put in a piece of coverstock and the punch just goes... nowhere. lol

thanks for any ideas,
