I was wondering if there was a dynamic template available for the calendar classic version on pages 32 and 33? I would like that pages style but with the current year's dates. Would that be possible? Please let me know! This is an AWESOME site and I'm so glad that i stumbled into it!

Thanks for the clarification

The short answer is that the Dynamics (currently) only do 1-up
The long answer, along with a detailed how-to-do-it, is here: How to utilize Dynamic Templates and Multivalent: Example 1 - January 2008 classic booklet (2-up, duplex)

About the font, you on a Mac or a Microsoft box ?

Ygor....

Your post was empty......

Did you mean to reply to my question about creating a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 planner? Or maybe the correct term is a "2 Up" planner.

I've played with all the buttons but don't see a way to print the daily planner page AND the notes page on one sheet of paper that I can cut in 2 afterwards.

Also, any tips on downloading the Blue Highway font. I downloaded it, found the file, moved the font into my 'Fonts' file but it doesn't show up in the file.

How do I select the template

How do I select the template size?

They seem to be for 8 1/2 x 11 planners but I would like the 8 x 5 1/2 size.

Thanks!

With difficulty got the tow page per year to print fairly well

I tried many different things in different orders and here is the best thing, as I remember it.
I saved the file to pdf. I retrieved the Classic profile and printed it, and it was fine--except for the two issues below.

The page had large margins that I didn't like. I even reduced the margins on the template app to the minimum and it didn't help--my top and bottom margins were almost an inch. And page two was in a box--a fine line around the content. I didn't like that since page one didn't have one, and I'd prefer not to have the box at all, but couldn't find a way to get rid of the box. It's strange, having the box on one page but not the other.

One thing -- the list of page sizes you get in the dynamic templates includes the option "Organizer L". That corresponds to Classic size, so you might use that. But you will still (I think) want to choose the Classic profile when you start printing.

There are so many options and things to try, you need to take notes and see what combination of options works. Eventually you'll get there, with luck.

Yea, I've played with the custom profiles a bit. It works great in acrobat or word or whatever - but not in the dynamic template apps, which is a bit more limited in its printer configuration support. :(

Do you have this working with any of the dynamic template apps?

Thanks,

Correction...

I said in the above message that every session you would have to go through this.

I should have said that every session you will have to retrieve the Classic profile. It's saved, so you don't have to set it up again, but you do have to hit the Profiles tab and click on the Classic profile, and Retrieve it.

Sorry about that--it's not all that much of a hassle! Also, on the Main tab there's a box for Preview before Printing. That gives you a chance to see how the printer is set up before you print and waste the expensive ink, so make sure to click that, too. It shows you how the paper is inserted into the printer (all the way to the right or left or centered) and you can see if the printed area takes up all the page or is just a little portion of the page. If it's just a small portion of the page, with mostly white space, you'll be reminded that you forgot to set the profile.

Also, explore the information you get when you click on the Instructions button at the bottom of the Main tab (assuming you have that for your printer). It has lots of help. At least it helped me understand the printer better.

Save a Custom Profile

I have a Canon Pixma iP90. I looked up your printer at the Canon web-site and it looks like your printer settings are very similar to mine, so you might try the following.

When you're ready to print, go into the printer Properties setting dialog. ( Like in Word, you click on the Print option from the File menu ) Click on the Page Setup tab.
Then set up the following options--
Page Size--Custom--Width 5.5, Height 8.5
Page Layout--Unclick Borderless printing box, select Normal-size printing.

I haven't tried to do anything with Duplex printing yet, left it blank.

Then click on the Profiles tab and Add to Profiles. You can name it--mine is Classic.

Every time you want to use the Classic paper you'll have to click on the Properties button from the Print dialog box, then click on the Profiles tab and click on Classic, and Retrieve.

It's not a sticky setting, so every session you'll have to go through this.

Hope this helps.

Custom sizes with Canon MP600

So it looks like my Canon MP600 can do custom sized paper but there does not seem to be a way to save it. In the dynamic templates app it shows "Custom..." in the paper list, but doesn't pop up the dialog to enter the sizes like it does when I'm in the Canon printer preferences app.

Any ideas? I'd prefer to print directly to a classic-sized sheet instead of regular letter-size and then having to cut it by hand (I had a ream cut to classic size at Kinkos).

Thanks!
