I am not sure, Nay Nay, how much of your comment is humor and how much is "zing", but it did sting a bit, so I feel like I need to explain a bit.

The linked article is targeted at technical forums, but I think there is a lot that folks can get from it. Part of the reason I use my "Google is your friend" catch phrase is that you CAN find a lot of answers by using it. By the way, this article is the source of "Google is your friend"

It is one thing to say "I googled and did not find anything", but to just come out and ask "Where can I find ...?" says that the asker has not done sufficient homework.

That is why I used the precise link that I did use. If folks have problems with it, I have no problem cranking back a few notches. But Google is still your friend.

pilot VBall Grip

I am looking for the "old style" pilot VBall Grip pens. They have a different feel to them that I like a lot better than the new style. I like the thicker barrel of the old style.

Has anyone found or bought the old style? If so, where did you find them.

I've used them. I got the 0.5mm extra fine point.
They write well and hold lots of ink.
If so inclined, one could remove the tip section, like on the Varsity, and refill with their favorite FP ink.

The ebay price might look good, but the postage is 3.75 and the current bid is 1.00 - so now you're starting within a quarter's distance of the 3-pack, and there's more bidding to go. $5 is a reasonable price and you won't have to wait. I overlook this myself all the time, so I just throw up a caution sign.

If you like the pilot V-Ball I'd suggest the Pilot P-500 and/or P-700 - they have a rigid needle point like the V-Ball but they have the archive quality dark gel ink similar to the G-2 family. They're quite nice.

The ebay auction tempted me because its FAR under retail for the pilot pens... plus there are different tip sizes and colors.

I should go on my usual supply tour de shops, but I'm lazy :P

ps. I found precise grips in a three pack (I think) and it was almost 5 bucks >.<

Have you tried your local (Office Depot/Staples/Target/Wal-Mart) ?
In the office supply stores, you can find bins of single pens near the checkouts.
Online shopping does not lend itself to single, inexpensive writing instruments. That's my guess on why you only see multi-packs.
