what is Uncalendar?

What is the advantage of the Uncalendar? I like the name - it reminds me of the Unschedule. The pictures on the site made it look like a notebook that you could custom order which forms you want to be included.

Color Uncalendar

I just ordered the Uncalendar loose-leaf Full Size and it does come in color now (though, strangely, I would have preferred the blue & beige).

I'm kind of excited to hear that it may be compatible with Rollabind/Circa stuff. I'll use 3-ring for now, but that's definitely a future possiblity. I use Levenger paper for notes right now, and it would be easy to switch to loose-leaf Circa paper instead of punching from my legal pads.

t.

Just buy the refill !!

And then punch them yourself. It has been my experience that the smurfs do not interfere with 3-ring holes on the Classic size 'cause there are an even number of discs

Observation: They seem inconsistant. on one page, they are crowing about the wonderful color pages, but then they do not offer the color pages in all the product forms -- mainly the 3-ring refills. Strange.

Do you like the system ?
I Circafied an Uncalender

I didn't rip the pages. Instead I just twisted the coil out. Then I used the large, old trimmer at work to lop off the edges and circa punched them. Now both my husband and I are both using the pages (they are undated). I really like the forms and the colors. I also like being able to just carry around the current week instead of hauling the whole thing around. I'm sad they won't sell the pages unbound. I don't know if I will buy another one, or just adapt the form for the parts of it I use the most. I think my husband will be buying another -- he loves the format.

I wouldn't rip the pages...

I wouldn't rip the pages... get a wire cutters and snip the wire, then just uncoil it.

You could potentially circa/rolla smurf punch with the existing holes still attached... I'd do a sample sheet to test (one that wouldnt be missed if it doesnt work). Then if worse comes to worse, grab a paper cutter and cut off the spiral holes and then smurf it.

What I would do

If I wanted to put these into a Circa/Rolla system, I would rip the pages all out, then use my cutter to cut off the holes, and then punch all the pages with the Rolla punch.

However, I couldn't tell on their web site how close the margins are to ring holes. You might end up punching right in the middle of your planner pages. This is not necessarily a problem, of course, but if you cut off too much, it could be. The other issue with doing this is that the pages are now narrower by about 1/4-3/8 of an inch. Again, this may not be a problem for you, especially if you use Circa notebook pages.

So, it looks perfectly doable, with the two caveats of holes and size. It's just going to take a bit of time to get it all done, and if you don't have a paper cutter, you will need that too. I wouldn't recommend scissors, but a sharp blade and straight edge _would_ work.

For next year, if you think this is too much work, you ought to look closer at the DIYPlanner forms. Just a quick perusal of their site gave me the impression that there probably are forms in the Classic system to cover just about everything their forms do--maybe not the same way, but some of the more more open forms should be adaptable.

Hi
I would like to know if

Hi

I would like to know if anyone has converted a regular wire-bound notebook into a Circa/rollabind one? I have recently purchased a Uncalendar planer. It looks really nice and colourful on the inside but then realized I might want to insert pages into it and thought about transforming it into a Circa/Rollabind style with the rings. I asked the publisher but they wont sent me one without the coil so I am thinking of not buying again next year and adapting my own style. Can anyone give me any ideas on how to do this transformation?

Muchas gracias

Forms

I printed out the Task Timer and the Task Planner. Oh, and some of the order-up task tickets. I'm really not sure how much I'll use them, seeing as how my job doesn't work that way, but I like playing with forms anyway. Maybe they can help me structure my school time and free time.

Good setup

Sounds like you have a good setup going on there. I just started using those Printable CEO forms as well this week. So far they seem to be pretty helpful, although I feel like I'm spending a lot of time filling them out, they definitely keep me on task. Which form(s) are you using?

My current Circa setup

I think I've figured out a Circa system that works for me.

1. Letter size notebook in a foldover padfolio I bought at Office Depot. (I don't have the funds for a Circa foldover.) This is for taking notes at school and for carrying my work papers in. (I have a dozen sheets of paper that I have to keep with me during work hours -- reference stuff.) I put the blank pages up front, and then a calendar and my work papers in back under tabs.

I've also printed off a bunch of Printable CEO forms and I'm going to give them a try. they're in my notebook too.

2. Classic size Rollabind notebook in a $15 Dayrunner zip folio off eBay. This is for tossing in my bag for taking notes or journaling while I'm out and about.

3. Two Rollabind binders, one for each college class.

4. Index cards in my Levenger Universal PDA case, which I can then smurf later.

I am so very much in love with Circa... :)
