Great products and great cost, yes

But frightening international delivery costs. On par with Levenger's. 11$ worth of disks, but 18$ for delivery. I'm not for that.

I'm with The Force

"others have said there is some compatability, although it is easier to use circa punched with Atoma products than the other way around (or so I seem to remember)"

The profile of the Cira/Rolla is too big for the myndology/atoma smurf. But the slim profile of the atoma/mynd accommodates the cira/rolla smurf.

again, I agree with Jedigamer!

Poor form...

Bad form, replying to my own post, but I could not pass this up: 50% off Rollabind (while supplies last, and no desk punches are left in stock, sadly.) So it looks like I'm a Rollabind/Circa man now.

Yes, I'm hoping that Myndology is bringing in the wooden rings. Their next line is a Bio line, so I'm hopeful!

Compatibility with Circa/Rollabind discs?

Jedi, I followed the force here from FPN...

I see that the Rollabind punch puts 11 smurfs in a letter-sized page, and the Atoma system (which Myndology licensed) uses 10. OK, fine, I would expect that each system would use their own proprietary punch. Do you know anything about the disc compatibility between the two systems, though?

I think the Atoma wooden rings are especially elegant-looking, but may settle into using whatever system I can lay my hands upon locally (assuming Target/Staples decide to get Rolla notebooks again.)

... ygor! I have often been disappointed because a particular product has never arrived. I'm willing to give Myndology a solid shot because they've treated me extremely well as a customer and in my conversations, they seem genuinely interested in what I want. In short, they practice good business.

I've plugged a top bound index card product and Jason seemed very interested. No promises of course, but at least interested.

... but I have seen where a promised product never materializes.
You are fortunate in that there is an alternative product.
I cannot fault anyone for loyalty to a particular product as long as they show me the same respect. If they had been available when I first discovered disc binding, I would have jumped at a less expensive choice.

Good luck.

And I probably will. But I like the product, it is more reasonably priced than the Circa stuff and fits my needs well. Besides, they seem like a small company and I like to support small companies!

More Thoughts on Myndology

I've used a Myndology journal (the 6.5 x 8.5 inch size) for about two weeks now and I wanted to post a few thoughts ...

1) I love the flexibility the removable paper brings. I purchased a pack of blank paper and it feeds reasonably well through my printer. With that, I've printed a few DIY Forms for use and my next three months Google calendar to carry with me.

2) The paper is pretty good quality, especially for a notebook. I've recently started using fountain pens and the paper takes Lamy, Pelikan and Pilot ink very well. I can write on both sides of the paper and have no problem. My inkjet printer caused some issues, but once it dried, it was fine (and on a lower quality and less black, it was perfect).

3) The plastic covers are okay, although I saw an idea for a notebook cover using a leather journal cover that I might try. It could just be the colors that I don't like. The plastic themselves are okay, but nothing spectacular.

All said, I spent about $20 (including buying one from Nay Nay here directly) for two notebooks, a package of grid paper and a package of blank paper. I thought it was a very good deal and I'm quite pleased with the purchase.

I did email the company and they do have plans for some new products (including a punch, as previously reported) this June or July. They have additional products coming later including folders and dividers.

I'm glad I took the plunge into the ring bound notebook systems!
