DIY Planner - Need to create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel for "Open Office" - Comments

To change the program that opens a file

Right-click the file you want to open in a different program, and then click Properties.
On the General tab, click Change.
Click the name of the program in which you want the file to open.
Notes
This change affects all files that have the same file name extension as the file you selected. For example, if you change the program that opens a .jpg file, all .jpg files will open in this program.

You can also change the program that opens a file by right-clicking the file, clicking Open With, and then clicking the program name. If the program you want is not displayed, click Browse.

This page is pretty highly ranked at Google if you search for need to create an association. Blame the title, I guess. Perhaps someone with moderator privs can adjust the title, and people looking for association help will end up at the other places that explain it?

I suggest you type the exact error message into Google and search for it. Almost always I've found the solution for a software problem that way

creating an association

WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO IS TO DOWNLOAD A NEW AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE CARD, THE WEB SITE SAYS THE FOLLOWING: THIS FILE DOES NOT HAVE A PROGRAM ASSOCIATED WITH IT FOR PERFORMING ITS ACTION....CREATE AN ASSOCIATION IN THE FOLDER OPTIONS CONTROL PAGE.

CAN YOU HELP ME??

File types hidden?

Don't forget that on some Windbloze machines the default is to hide file types so the three letter code at the end of a filename may not be visible.

yes, it is an email....The extension is file name.pdf
the 3 letter code that appears after the filename

I'm getting exactly the same message when I try to open pix in outlook express, but not every time. If I find a solution to this aggravating situation, I'll hand it over to you, and you the same, please.

Need to create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel for "Open Office"

I still haven't settled into a "Classic" planner yet and I thought I'd try playing with the hipster 3 x 5 card templates. I managed to install "Open Office" and I think I set it up to open "Excel" but when I try to open the DIY hipster kit for 1 ups I get the "Need to create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel" message. But the program tab in the Folder Options Control Panel doesn't list "Open Office".

What am I doing wrong?

By the way, I'm not sure what I'd need do if I did see Open Office in the Folder Options Control Panel. I was hoping it would be self explanatory.

Interestingly, I didn't have this problem with the classic 2 ups.

Any suggestions?
