Just had a play about and after trying your suggestion of scaling the page I found that the printout looks great.

The Letter size version is labeled "Letter/A4". I think most printing software will let you scale the printout from Letter to A4 size and it will turn out OK.

I think the font is flakey

Flakey enough to cause problem, but not flakey enough to always not work. That's my opinion. I've never seen another font behave like this one. It does different things on different computers. yuck. It's a shame, because it's an attractive font, overall...

It must have been done on a newer version of Adobe. I upgraded to Adobe Reader 8 and it opens fine now. :-)

My box is doing the same thing with the embedded font. My fonts are fine; I can use blue highway for other things with no difficulty.

One thought...I'll check into this...I wonder if there is an issue with Adobe Acrobat versions here..

I've got Windows XP Pro on a Parallels virtual machine on my Mac, and the file looks fine in Adobe Reader 8. I do not have the Blue Highway fonts on that machine. Maybe your font files are corrupt? Try deleting / disabling them. The file seems OK here. Anyone else?

Hi,

When I try to open the new 2007 Calendar pack, Adobe Acrobat tells me "Cannot extract the embedded font 'FHBKBS+BlueHighway'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."

Then when I open the file, the fonts look kind of funky and there are bullet symbols where the spaces should be between words.

Can someone help here? I have Blue Highway installed on my Windows XP machine as a font, but it is not working properly, apparently.

The 24-month yearly reference pages from the Classic pack uses the rounded corners and the new "subtitle" widget. The main places you'll see the differences in the 3.0 vs. 2.5 calendar packs are the undated daily and weekly pages.

I think I have the older Widget Kit somewhere. I will have to compare.

I guess that's about it, at least for the calendar pack. The gradients, rounded corners, and there are different widgets, but I suppose they're not in the calendar pack.

Understanding the difference between 2.5 and 3.0

Can you clue me in ?
This is for the software I am writing for pre-dated pages.

I compared this v2.5 letter to the 3.0 classic and I found the following differences:

gradient in the bar at the top of the page
"Quickscan" vs. "*" for the "notes column" on the left-hand page

Is that it or am I missing some changes and need to get my eyeglass prescription updated ? :)

The D*I*Y Planner team has been spending lots of time recently getting this site upgraded and working out some of the kinks and new features. We've been so busy, in fact, that we left an important issue off of the list. Until now.

Presenting the D*I*Y Planner 2.5 Letter Calendar Pack, 2007 Edition.

This template pack includes 32 letter-sized pages of 2007 calendars, including:

Yearly Planning (26 wks/page, Jan-Dec, facing pages) for 2007 and 2008,
Academic Planning (26 wks/page, Aug-Jul, facing pages) for the 2007-08 Academic Year,
2007 and 2008 one-page 24-month calendar reference
Dated monthly facing pages, Jan 2007 through Dec 2007.

Although the Classic planner is in a new "3.0" format, the letter-sized edition will, for now, remain in the older, "2.5" style.

Please let me know of any problems you find or suggestions you have for improving this pack.

As these are considered "official" D*I*Y Planner templates, they are owned by Doug Johnston and covered under the Creative Commons Non-Commercial No Derivatives License (see the legalese), which means mainly that you can't commercially print or distribute it. (Personal use within a commercial environment is fine.)
