Great goals!! I love the "write it like it's DONE" perspective. The form is intriquing...I've never been good about documenting my goals, so maybe this will help! Usually my goals are...well..let me think about them.. oh wait, time's up...can't think about them, I've got manouvers to make...

Nope, I never make time for goal setting.

My September goal: I have set 3 goals (2 year, 5 year, 10 year) for myself and am regularly reviewing them.

Thanks for this post!

How Do You Keep Track of Your Goals?

How do you keep track of your goals?

I'm a big fan of long-range planning because planning helps me consciously choose what to do instead of just react to whatever life gives me. I like thinking about who I want to be and what I want to do in the future. With a clear picture of what I want, I can then figure out what I need to do in order to make that a reality.

I keep brief descriptions of my mission, two-year, five-year, and ten-year plans on index cards that I regularly review. Because I review my goals again and again, I quickly get a feel of which goals really inspire me and which ones are just blah. I like experimenting with different ways to express my goals, looking for something concise and effective. I like writing as if I have already accomplished my goals, which helps me visualize the results better. My current goals are:

Mission: Help people discover how productive, effective, and happy they can be with good life management and communication skills.

2 years: I have a master's degree in human computer interaction and am an apprentice in an established personal coaching company.

5 years: I have written at least 3 useful e-books and am good enough to give workshops. (I am also married to my boyfriend of 6 years! =) )

10 years: I am an internationally known professional speaker who touches the lives of thousands of people each year.

(Not perfect, but at least I have something to work on! =) )

The D*I*Y Planner Classic Goal Planning form is far more sophisticated than my scribbled-on index cards, and I'm thinking of using that to keep track of more details. I like the way the Goal Planning form helps you reflect on how your goal fits in with your overall mission. The form also makes it easier for you to keep track of your progress toward a goal. Good stuff!

I'm looking forward to versions of the Goal Planning form for the Hipster PDA and other planner sizes. I'd also love to hear how you keep yourself on track. How do you review your goals?
